The Popular Keychron C3 Pro Red or Brown Mechanical SwitchKeyboards Are Down to Under $30

Amazon is offering 26% off Keychron’s popular C3 Pro mechanical keyboards. They start at $37 but both the Red and Brown mechanical key models are currently on sale for $27.47, which is the lowest price ever. Despite the low price tag, these keyboards offer plenty of practical features like QMK/VIA open source software support, gasket mounts, RGB lighting, and USB type connectivity, all packed in a compact tenkeyless footprint.

The Keychron C3 sports a compact tenkeyless layout with 87 keys. Both Mac and Windows keys are included. You can choose either Keychron Brown (tactile with soft click) or Keychron Red (linear with no click) mechanical switches, both of which are on sale. The C3 Pro uses an up to date USB Type-C connection (with cable included) for your hardwired needs.

These keycaps are standard ABS instead of the more premium PBT double-shot. Although you can buy a replacement set of PBT double-shot keys on the Keychron website, they’re also compatible with many 3rd party keys for additional customizability. The keycaps have translucent legends to allow the north-facing RGB lights to shine through. The PCB plate hosting the switches is mounted on sound-absorbing foam and a gasket for a nicer sound profile.

The C3 Pro keys are mappable via the open source QMK/VIA firmware. Every key can be remapped and macros are supported in Windows, macOS, and Linux. Since it can all be configured in your browser, there’s no need to download any bloated software app.

Who is Keychron?

Keychron might not be as well known amongst the gamers compared to brands like Razer, Corsair, Logitech, or SteelSeries, but Keychron is actually the keyboard I personally use. They offer a huge range of keyboards with features that you’d normally only find from boutique keyboard manufacturers like pre-lubed hot-swappable mechanical keys and internal gaskets for improved sound profile, and stabilizers for more uniform keypress feel, on top of “basic” premium features like PBT doubleshot keycaps, south-facing RGB LEDs, solid and heavy metal chassis, Bluetooth and wired dual connectivity, and more. If you’re unwilling to jump into the rabbit hole of diy-ing your own modded custom keyboard, Keychron is pretty much the next best thing.
