The Lord of the Rings cast reunited over the weekend and shared some wholesome photos of all four hobbits (and Legolas) enjoying a cheeky night out in England.
As reported by Deadline, Merry Brandybuck actor Dominic Monaghan posted photos on Instagram (below) of him with Elijah Wood (Frodo Baggins), Sean Astin (Samwise Gamgee), Billy Boyd (Pippin Took), and Orlando Bloom (Legolas).
The group appeared at Liverpool Comic Con, which took place from May 4 to May 5, 2024, and celebrated their rare get together with some evening drinks. “Three Hobbits and an elf and the conversation tonight was vaulted,” Monaghan wrote in one post. The other was simply captioned, “Squad goals. How’s yours?”
The reunion caught the attention of another Lord of the Rings star, as alongside Bloom himself commenting to call it the “best photo”, Lady Arwen actress Liv Tyler commented to say: “Ohhhhhh too much” with several love hearts.
A reunion with every hobbit doesn’t come often, as a 2022 IGN interview with the foursome saw them come together for the first time in a decade. That doesn’t mean they don’t keep in touch though, as Boyd said they regularly meet up in different combinations and even have a group chat called The Hobbits.
The wholesome photos come during an otherwise unfortunate weekend for Lord of the Rings fans who mourned the loss of King Théoden actor Bernard Hill, who died on May 5 aged 79.
