Rebel Wilson Slams ‘Asshole’ Sacha Baron Cohen AGAIN as He Responds to Memoir News

Brendon Thorne/Getty Images for AFIRebel Wilson is doubling down on her assertions that Sacha Baron Cohen is an “asshole” who is attempting to prevent her from publishing her memoir, which reportedly includes a chapter centered around his alleged misconduct. Wilson, who played Baron Cohen’s wife in his 2016 film The Brothers Grimsby, previously claimed that an unnamed “massive asshole” with whom she had worked had now hired a crisis team and begun threatening her. Earlier this week, she named Baron Cohen. A representative for the actor quickly denied Wilson’s “demonstrably false claims,” saying they were contradicted by “extensive detailed evidence, including contemporaneous documents, film footage, and eyewitness accounts” from those on set. Trump Gets Hit With Sweeping Gag Order in Hush Money Trial

Shannon Stapleton/ReutersThe judge overseeing Donald Trump’s upcoming hush money trial in New York hit the former president with a gag order on Tuesday, just one day after Trump peddled a conspiracy theory about a prosecutor—and hours after the tycoon levied attacks against the judge’s daughter.New York Supreme Court Justice Juan M. Merchan forbade Trump from speaking publicly about line prosecutors and court staff—or even their family members. He also subjected Trump to the same sorts of precautionary warnings the former president has faced from other judges in separate cases, ordering him to not even mention any prospective jurors. The snap decision was made on the heels of Trump’s anger-laden press conference yesterday at his 40 Wall Street building in downtown Manhattan, where the former president lashed out after suffering a minor loss in court when Merchan set his criminal trial—Trump’s first ever—to start on April 15.Read more at The Daily Beast.

Colbert Expresses Regret Over Kate Middleton Affair Jokes

CBS/screengrabStephen Colbert is taking back his Kate Middleton jokes, along with the rest of America.Monday night on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, the host took some time to address his comic remarks about the princess’ “mysterious” disappearance from public life, acknowledging that the jokes “upset some people.” This comes after the Princess of Wales revealed to the public that she was being treated for cancer.“Two weeks ago, we did some jokes about that mystery and all of the attendant fru-frah in reporting about that,” he said on Monday. “And when I made those jokes, that upset some people—even before her diagnosis was revealed. I can understand that. I mean, a lot of my jokes have upset people in the past and I’m sure some of my jokes will upset people in the future but there's a standard that I try to hold myself to and that is I do not make light of somebody else’s tragedy.”Read more at The Daily Beast.

Putin’s No. 1 Ally Appears to Expose Kremlin Terror Story as Total BS

Olga Maltseva/ReutersBelarusian President Alexander Lukashenko on Tuesday appears to have blown a massive hole in Vladimir Putin’s claims that Ukraine may have been behind the horrific terror attack at a concert venue on the outskirts of Moscow last week.ISIS has claimed responsibility for the massacre Friday at the Crocus City Hall in which 139 people were killed. Nevertheless, Putin has attempted to shift blame for the bloodshed to Kyiv— but a major claim that the Russian president cited as evidence of potential Ukrainian involvement has now been utterly contradicted by none other than his most ardent ally.Even after the radical Islamists claimed to be behind the attack, Putin did not mention them in his first national address about the incident on Saturday. Instead, he said that four of the attackers were arrested as they fled in the direction of Ukraine, adding that a “window was prepared for them from the Ukrainian side” to cross the border.Read more at The Daily Beast.

Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs Accuser Adds Cuba Gooding Jr. to Sex Assault Lawsuit

Mike Segar/ReutersThe music producer suing Sean “Diddy” Combs over allegations of sexual harassment and assault has now listed actor Cuba Gooding Jr. as a defendant in the case, according to an amended civil complaint filed late Monday. The document, which was first reported by NBC News, alleges that producer Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones was groped by Gooding Jr. aboard Combs’ rented yacht in the U.S. Virgin Islands in 2023. The original lawsuit filed against Combs and others in late February included the claim against Gooding Jr. but did not list him as a defendant in the case, instead referencing the allegation in accusing Combs of having failed to protect Jones at the time.According to the new complaint, Combs introduced Jones to Gooding Jr. on the vessel and left the pair alone in a “makeshift studio” on board. Gooding Jr. then allegedly “began touching, groping, and fondling Mr. Jones’ legs, his upper inner thighs near his groin, the small of his back near his buttocks, and his shoulders.”Read more at The Daily Beast.

Julian Assange Scores Temporary Victory in Fight Against Extradition to the U.S.

Isabel Infantes/ReutersWikiLeaks founder Julian Assange was handed a boost in his yearslong legal battle on Tuesday as a British court ruled that he will not be extradited to the U.S. immediately.London’s High Court judgment found the Australian journalist “has a real prospect of success” in three of his grounds for appeal against a 2022 decision from the U.K. government allowing his extradition to face espionage charges. But before a decision is taken on whether he can launch a full appeal, the court has asked for specific assurances from the U.S. about what could happen to Assange. If the assurances aren’t filed, his leave to appeal will be granted automatically.“Mr. Assange will not, therefore, be extradited immediately,” the court said. The U.S. government has been given three weeks to make assurances that Assange will be allowed to “rely on the First Amendment” protecting free speech, that he won’t be prejudiced at trial on the grounds of his nationality, that he’ll receive the same First Amendment rights as an American citizen, and that he will not face the death penalty.Read more at The Daily Beast.
