Star Wars: The Acolyte Trailer Sees High Republic-Era Jedi Face Off Against New Dark Side Forces

Our newest trailer for The Acolyte is here, revealing more conflict in the Star Wars universe as the Jedi begin to tackle emerging dark side powers.

Disney published the video to help celebrate May the 4th 2024, putting the focus on those responsible for recent Jedi murders. It’s a lightsaber-heavy clip that comes with nearly two minutes of story set-up to enjoy, but more importantly, it gives us a better look at Amandla Stenberg’s Mae, Carrie-Anne Moss’ Indara, and Lee Jung-jae’s Sol.

This early Star Wars prequel series gives viewers a live-action look at new Sith characters. Thankfully, the red-lightsaber-wielding dark forces are looking cooler than ever, as the end of the trailer shows off what seems to be a helmet with teeth.

Disney announced The Acolyte in 2020, and at the time, promised to tell a story that tackles events set during the High Republic era. It’s a Star Wars story that takes place a long time before Lucasfilm’s prequel movies, leaving plenty of room to experiment with the universe. Along with its new characters, we’ll see people like Jedi Master Vernestra Rwoh (Rebecca Henderson), who will use a purple saber that can turn into a lightwhip.
