Fairly OddParents Sequel Series Trailer Released Alongside Story Details

Nickelodeon has released the first trailer for The Fairly OddParents: A New Wish, revealing a new kid with fresh wishes to grant and a few returning characters.

The 30-second trailer introduces viewers to ten-year-old Hazel Wells, a girl (voiced by Tiny Toons Looniversity’s Ashleigh Crystal Hairston) who just moved after her dad got a new job in Dimmadelphia. Expect to follow the new star on a 20-episode journey as she comes to know her pink-and-green-haired neighbors who have a secret that many longtime viewers may already know.

There are a few blink-and-you’ll-miss-it moments in this first The Fairly OddParents: A New Wish trailer that highlight some of the adventures the new trio will embark on. You can see everything, including the follow-up show’s new CG art style, in the trailer here.

As you may have noticed, yes, Cosmo and Wanda are back, and so are their voice actors, Daran Norris and Susanne Blakeslee. Another familiar face that pops up in the trailer is original series regular Jorgen Von Strangle, who can briefly be seen with a slightly new appearance while pointing the way to Fairy World. Considering Norris also voices Cosmo, we can guess that he’ll return as Jorgen, too.

Paramount says the show’s premiere episode, Fly, follows Hazel after she tries to run away from home. You can read the series’ official logline here: “In Fairly OddParents: A New Wish, ten-year-old Hazel Wells has just moved to the big city of Dimmadelphia because of her dad’s new job. On top of being in an unfamiliar environment, it’s the first time she’s been without her brother, Antony, who’s just left for college, leaving her lonely and unsure of herself. All that changes when the pink-and-green-haired neighbors next door reveal that they are no ordinary neighbors…they’re Cosmo and Wanda, fairy godparents! And they’re coming out of retirement to make all of Hazel’s wishes come true.”
