In my twenties, my makeup bag was brimming with bold lipsticks, colorful mascaras, and glittery eyeshadows. These days, I've embraced my less is more era, slathering on tinted moisturizer, sweeping on black mascara, and filling in my brows before running out the door with my two kiddos in tow. If I have more than five minutes to spend on my face, liquid eyeliner is the first product I grab. It's my secret weapon for extending my natural lash line, but it takes precision and patience to get just right. I've finally found a version that gives me a flawless and subtle cat eye every time on the first try, which means I can reach for it even on rushed mornings. About the Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner This is an easy-to-apply, waterproof liquid liner. It stays put all day and night with no smudging, feathering, or running. The quick-dry formula is matte and comes in eight colors. It has a thin, marker-like tip that makes it easy to control for thin or thick lines. What I Like About the Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner While liquid eyeliner is usually associated with dramatic, '60s era cat eyes, the ultra-thin marker-like tip on this product makes it easy to draw a superthin line. I love how it subtly enhances my eyes without making me feel like I have a ton of eye makeup on for school drop off. As someone who prefers a natural look, I was worried that the Intense Black color might be a little too intense, but I think it's the perfect pop. As an absent-minded eye rubber, I've given up on pencil eyeliners, which end up everywhere and never have a thin enough tip. With this eyeliner, the line I draw looks exactly the same from the minute I apply it until I wash my face at night. I can snuggle with my toddler, get a workout in, and live my life without looking like the lead in a horror film at the end of the day. How to Use the Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner Before you apply the liner, give it a good shake with the lid on to make sure the tip is nice and juicy. Gently stretch the upper corner of your eye to get a smooth surface so that your line doesn't bleed. Apply the liner as close to the lashes as possible. To avoid gaps between the lashes and liner, it helps to apply the liner into the lashes, using small feathery strokes. What to Consider Before Trying the Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner This liquid eyeliner is especially great for wing and cat-eye novices because of how easy it is to apply. The thin tip also makes it a good option for anyone who prefers a natural look, though you can also get a bolder look by angling the tip and going back over your line to add thickness and shape. While it will stay put through the day without smudging, I was also able to get it off with a cleansing balm at night instead of having to use waterproof eye-makeup remover. If you're experimenting with a bolder line or just getting used to liquid eyeliner, you'll want to have some makeup remover and a Q-tip on hand when applying. Rating:
Every holiday season and birthday month, the scramble to find a riveting toy or intentional gift for your kids can feel stressful, especially if family members are also nudging you for suggestions. When my now-7-year-old was a toddler, I purchased the Magna-Tiles Classic 100-Piece Magnetic Set ($120), hoping it would provide hours of open-ended play. Today, the set is still being dragged out by his 4-year-old brother almost every day. It's definitely earned its title as the best toy purchase I've made by a landslide. What I Like About the Magna-Tiles Classic 100-Piece Magnetic Set Since young children learn through playing, having toys that require them to be creative, explore, and use their imagination instead of playing with toys that have a fixed outcome can help them develop all sorts of skills, including strong communication and language, mathematical concepts, motor skills, self-control, and even concentration. The Magna-Tiles are perfect for encouraging this because they can be used a zillion ways, from building castles to elaborate marble runs. Depending on his mood, my 4-year-old might surround his wooden barn with a Magna-Tiles gate filled with farm animals or line up Hot Wheels cars on a Magna-Tiles ramp he's built - the possibilities really are endless. It's so cool to see his own wheels turning as he realizes he can create more of the square shapes he might need by sticking two triangles together or construct a bridge that seems to defy gravity, as long as he builds in beam supports. He recently placed a yellow tile over a blue tile, gleefully discovering that it gave him more green tiles for the dinosaur he was constructing. What's Worth Noting About the Magna-Tiles Classic 100-Piece Magnetic Set Magna-Tiles aren't cheap. While it might seem steep to shell out more than $100 for a set, the product's 10,000-plus reviews and 4.9 average rating on Amazon speak volumes. Prominent experts like child psychologist Dr. Becky Kennedy have talked about the benefits of introducing these toys to kids. In an excerpt from Amazon's Magna-Tiles page, she writes, "When children engage in open-ended play, like building with Magna-Tiles, they learn how to cope with frustration, how to bounce back from difficulties, how to access their creativity, and how to turn ideas into reality." Amazon also offers less-expensive Magna-Tiles sets with fewer tiles, like this 32-Piece Magna-Tiles Set ($50). You can even buy themed Magna-Tiles sets, like this Magna-Tiles 48-Piece Magnetic Construction Set ($75). After purchasing the 100-piece set, I'm glad we went with an option that offers tons of tiles. Stragglers get misplaced now and then, and the kids tend to use almost all of the tiles when they're playing. Who's the Magna-Tiles Classic 100-Piece Magnetic Set Best For? This set is perfect for kids ages 3 and up. If you're looking to invest in a versatile STEAM toy that will grow with them, Magna-Tiles are definitely worth considering. Even if you have limited toy storage, they can be placed in an under-bed storage container for easy cleanup. Additional Details Pieces included: 100 translucent geometric shapes in six different colors, including squares (four large, 50 small) and triangles (20 equilateral, 11 right, 15 isosceles). This is a certified STEAM toy, supporting the development of fine motor skills, bilateral coordination, cognitive skills, executive functioning, creativity, and more. They're intended for ages 3 and older. Material: Magna-Tiles are made from food-grade, nontoxic MABS plastic that's free from BPAs, phthalates, and latex. Rating:

I'm a recovering overpacker, and I blame it on my failure to realize that bigger really isn't better when it comes to luggage. Now, I gleefully roll my carry-on suitcase and personal item past baggage claim and scour the internet for other travel-hack items, like this magnetic toiletry case and this neck pillow that works with headphones. My latest discovery is Nomad Lane's V4 Bento Bag ($298), a personal-item bag loaded with so many thoughtful compartments that packing cubes become irrelevant. What I Like About the V4 Bento Bag by Nomad Lane This bag is compact and lightweight enough to be used as a personal item bag or even an everyday commuter bag, but it can also work as a weekender. It packs like a suitcase in the sense that you can zip it open down the middle with each side laying flat to make packing easier, but it travels like a personal item because it can slide under an airplane seat. The bento aspect kicks in with all of the cleverly designed features and compartments: a removable/adjustable side strap, a front pocket, a stretchy key leash, a tech pouch, a toiletry pouch, a shoe bag, two internal compartments, an external wallet/phone pocket for quick and easy access, a convertible-trolley sleeve pocket, and an external water-bottle pocket that you can zip up when you aren't using it. It has a padded inside pocket that can cradle my laptop and tablet, and I like that it includes a Velcro strap to hold them in place. I was even able to squeeze in my Sony Noise-Canceling Headphones case, which isn't small. The two security-friendly pockets that can be accessed from the top of the bag are perfect for stashing the toiletry and tech pouches that come with it. Having to fumble through a traditional suitcase during this process always makes me feel flustered and slightly exposed, so I appreciate that I can quickly pull them out without displaying the inside of my suitcase. After packing my computer, tablet, chargers, and headphones, I was able to include two changes of clothes, pajamas, toiletries, and an extra pair of shoes all inside the bag, which is pretty impressive for the size! What's Worth Noting About the V4 Bento Bag by Nomad Lane At $298, it's definitely an investment piece. And while it might seem steep for a bag that's crafted from nylon with leather handles, I was able to easily wipe away deodorant smudges and even a coffee spill, which made me appreciate the material. If you have a smaller budget, Amazon carries an older version of the Bento Bag by Nomad Lane for less. It doesn't have some of the perks of the new V4 version, like the included pouches and the easy-access wallet-and-phone external pocket, but it still has a strong 4.4 rating. Another thing to consider is whether you'll most often be using the shoulder strap or the handles. I'm 5'6," and the shoulder strap feels comfortable to me, but one of the reviews I read mentioned that it felt a bit small on their 5'11" frame and that they wished it was a bit longer. Who Is the V4 Bento Bag by Nomad Lane Best For? This bag is ideal for anyone who wants to avoid checking luggage and prefers to zip in and out of security to get to their gate ASAP. If you're an ultralight packer or just want a more efficient personal-item bag, this is an incredibly versatile piece of luggage you'll find yourself packing for everything from flights to work commutes. Additional Details Size: 17 inches (width) x 8 inches (diameter) x 10 inches (height). Material: prem weather-resistant nylon and LWG-certified leather. Weight: less than 2.76 pounds with an overall bag volume of 24 litres. Colors: Available in three color options. Where Is the V4 Bento Bag by Nomad Lane Available to Shop? Nomad Lane's new V4 Bento Bag is available to shop at Nomad Lane, and the older version of The Bento Bag ($248) is available at Amazon. I've been on the hunt for a vintage-inspired ceramic vase that doesn't cost an absurd amount of money. Ceramic vases with classic silhouettes and layers of patina can be shockingly expensive - so much so, that transforming Goodwill vases by slathering them with baking soda and any water-based paint has become a popular DIY hack on social media. If, like me, you also shudder at the thought of having to create an art project after finding and purchasing the right vase, you'll appreciate my latest Target find. Target's Threshold x Studio McGee collection includes a Small Ceramic Trophy Vase ($15) that I'm currently obsessed with. What I Love About Target's Ceramic Trophy Vase The $15 price tag was what initially convinced me to purchase it without seeing it in person, and I'm glad I did. It's a petite vase, which I actually love since it doesn't require a ton of flowers to be filled. The trophy shape reminds me of pricier vintage options I've sourced but decided to pass on because of their steep prices. It's such a sculptural shape that it looks just as lovely without flowers. It has a top layer of creamy white paint with a bottom layer of terra-cotta peeking underneath to create a faux-patina look. I'm planning to move it around the house and experiment using it in different ways: filling it with wooden spoons in the kitchen; with fresh greenery or dried stems; with pens on my desk; or keeping it empty and placing it on top of a stack of books to see what I like best. What's Worth Noting About Target's Ceramic Trophy Vase This vase comes in two sizes: a small size and a large size. The Large Ceramic Trophy Vase ($30) is double the price of the smaller one that I purchased. It's worth thinking about how you want to use your vase (i.e. to be filled with branches as a statement piece vs. filled with a few blooms and taking up less space) to decide which size is best for you. It's also watertight, so you can use it with or without water. I usually like to put my vases into the top rack of the dishwasher to give them a thorough clean after filling them with flowers but the instructions for this vase say to spot clean it, so I'll have to see if hand washing it with soap and warm water effects its topcoat at all. Who Is Target's Ceramic Trophy Vase Best For? This vase is perfect for anyone who has been searching for a ceramic, vintage-inspired trophy vase at an affordable price. If you prefer a neutral color with just a touch of patina instead of something more modern, like a glossy bright white, you'll appreciate how this vase toes the line between both aesthetics. Additional Details About Target's Ceramic Trophy Vase Dimensions: The small vase is 5.75 inches (height) x 5.5 inches (width) x 4.38 inches (diameter), and the large vase is 8.88 inches (height) x 9.62 inches (width) x 7.62 inches (diameter). Materials: Ceramic. Care: Spot or wipe clean. Rating:
