Amazon’s Fallout series gives us a look at power armor, ghouls, and a new vault

Prime Video’s Fallout series has finally given us our first glimpse at its post-apocalyptic world. In new photos of the show released on Tuesday, we get a look at power armor, a new vault, and some of the series’ main characters.

The standout from the lineup of photos is clearly Fallout’s signature power armor. There are two photos here, one of someone in a suit standing next to a puny human, a character called Maximus (played by Aaron Moten), and another of a whole line of power-armored soldiers.

While we can’t necessarily glean too much from just these images, we can see that the Brotherhood of Steel logo is clearly painted on the chest of the armor, and that it appears to be either T-45 or T-60 armor that’s shockingly clean and well maintained compared to most of the armor we see in the wasteland.

Coming in slightly behind the power armor in terms of exciting things to see from this series is the photo of Walton Goggins (The Righteous Gemstones) as a ruthless, bounty-hunting ghoul, which looks about how you’d think.

Prime Video also revealed shots of Ella Purnell (Yellowjackets, Arcane) as Lucy, emerging from Vault 33 and into the wasteland, presumably putting her in the role most player characters occupy in the games.

There’s also a photo of her in the vault talking to Kyle MacLachlan (Twin Peaks), who plays the Overseer of Vault 33 and Lucy’s father.

And here’s a further image of Purnell hanging out with director Jonathan Nolan behind the scenes of the show.

Finally, there are a few shots of various people standing around the wasteland, looking at things like airships, which look pretty great in the photos so far.

While there’s still no trailer for the Fallout show yet, it is set for release on April 12, 2024.
