We now know the cast behind all the beautiful, romanceable companions in the new Dragon Age game

A Dragon Age game is nothing without a robust cast of compelling companions — and The Veilguard is no exception. The trailer at Summer Games Fest introduced us to the new characters, but now we finally get to know the voices behind their beautiful faces (which might just help us figure out who to smooch).

Ike Amadi (Javik in Mass Effect 3 and Aaron Davis in Insomniac’s Spider-Man) voices Davrin, the charming Grey Warden with the adorable baby griffon. Jee Young Han (Perry Mason, Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts) plays Bellara, the romantic Veil Jumper who seeks out arcane secrets. Neve, the Tevinter private investigator (and secret rebel), is voiced by True Blood’s Jessica Clark.

Star Trek: Picard’s Jin Maley voices Taash, the adventurous dragon hunter (and also the first in-game female qunari (before you come to well, actually me, I am not counting Felicia Day’s Dragon Age-sona from the Mark of the Assassin DLC). Nick Boraine from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Black Sails voices the gentlemanly necromancer Emmrich (with Critical Role’s Matt Mercer as his skeletal assistant). And rounding out the cast is Zach Mendez (Horizon Forbidden West) as cutthroat Antivan assassin Lucanis.

Additionally, Alex Jordan (Cyberpunk 2077), Bryony Corrigan (Baldur’s Gate 3), Erika Ishii (Apex Legends, Dropout), and Jeff Berg (Battlefield 1) are behind the voice options for the player character, Rook.

As for returning characters, Brian Bloom is back as dwarven storyteller and reluctant merchant Varric, Gareth David-Lloyd returns as the tragic Solas, and Ali Hillis will again voice Scout Harding (now promoted to full-on companion and possible love interest!). BioWare is tightlipped on which other characters might return (if Dorian doesn’t make an appearance, I riot).

Dragon Age: The Veilguard is set to release sometime in 2024.
