Chicago evicting some migrants from shelters

In an effort to reduce the strain on city resources, Chicago officials began evicting migrants from homeless shelters Sunday. Of the about 11,000 people living in these shelters, 34 single adults were removed. The city says it's trying to evict 2,000 people from the system by April. Alice Yin, a city hall reporter for the Chicago Tribune, joined CBS News to discuss the evictions.

Video shows people suspected of erecting noose, gallows before Jan. 6 attack

CBS News has obtained surveillance video showing people believed to be responsible for erecting a noose and gallows on U.S. Capitol grounds before the attack on Jan. 6, 2021. Congressional investigators released the video. The suspects have not been identified. CBS News congressional correspondent Scott MacFarlane reports.

Israel continuing plans to invade Rafah despite U.S. warning of civilian toll

As Israel plans an invasion of Hamas’ stronghold in Rafah, hundreds of thousands of Gaza civilians are on the brink of starvation and could wind up the crossfire. The U.S. and other allies of Israel are warning of a possible disaster, but Israeli leaders say they have a plan. CBS News foreign correspondent Chris Livesay is in Tel Aviv.
