You don’t see this deal show up very often. Today Walmart is offering the Bowflex SelectTech 2080 Adjustable Barbell with Curl Bar for only $324.99. That’s 45% off the $599 MSRP on the Bowflex website, however currently it’s not even available there. Free weights like barbells are a great choice for someone who wants access to a variety of workouts that can target every muscle in your body without having to buy a ton of equipment or give up a lot of space.

This deal includes a Bowflex SelectTech 2080 barbell as well as a second curl bar. It’s adjustable from 20lbs to 80lbs, however you can upgrade it to up to 120lbs with the optional kit. There are seven weight increments: 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 70 and 80 lbs. In terms of space saving prowess, the Bowflex barbell is unmatched. You basically only have to worry about a single barbell instead of an entire rack of weights. The weights are very easy to swap the fly because instead of having to switch out plates, all you have to do is turn a dial. Bowflex durability is sold as well; the components are mostly metal wrapped in plastic and rubber to deaden vibrations and provide better grip.
Note that the barbell include the cradle but not the stand. To complete the package, you can pick up the Bowflex stand that’s made specifically for the SelectTech barbell. It’s currently $199 and might be worth it if you don’t want your barbell sitting on the floor (although a long enough end table works just as well).
Something to note is that Bowflex filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy back in March. Fortunately they’re already in negotiations to be bought out, so you most likely won’t worry about losing your 3 year warranty, although there aren’t any guarantees. That said, these SelectTech products are built tough; the simple design and lack of delicate moving parts means that they’ll last much, much longer than 3 years. My Bowflex dumbbells are going on 10 years and are still in excellent shape, pun intended.
