Could “Anyone But You” co-stars Glen Powell and Sydney Sweeney be the next Julia Roberts and George Clooney? The duo’s work on the past romantic comedy brought in a cool $64 million at the domestic box office, eventually crossing the $100 million mark worldwide. Thus setting the twosome up as a bankable pair that the audience might be ready to watch fall in (and out) of love over and over.

So what’s next for the couple that saved the rom-com? More scripts, revealed to Powell to Variety’s Senior Culture and Events Editor Marc Malkin at the SAG Awards on Saturday night.

Powell stopped by Variety‘s “On the Carpet” presented by DIRECTV at the award ceremony to give a brief update.

“When you find somebody that you really jive with, Sydney is so easy to work with and so fun. We’re definitely trying to find the next thing,” Powell said. “Please send us all the scripts you got. You know we’re here for it. It’s been really wonderful to read a lot. Sydney reads everything, by the way, and in record time. She’s the fastest reader I think I’ve ever met. It takes me a little longer, but we’re reading everything and just trying to see what makes sense, what we can turn into something that audiences are going to respond to.”

Until then, fans have Powell’s next project, the action flick “Twisters,” to look forward to this summer. Powell revealed that he’d known about the project since working with “Top Gun: Maverick” director (who was originally tied to the film) Joseph Kosinski and was developing the script with Mark L. Smith. Ultimately, the Oscar-nominated “Minari” director Lee Isaac Chung would helm the flick and today, Powell is amped for the public to see the tornado-chasing film.

“[I] met with Lee Isaac Chung and met with Daisy Edgar-Jones and had a great chemistry with Daisy and she’s sensational and we just have such a great vibe in this movie,” Powell said. “The movie, just the texture of it, the fun of it, the world, it’s going to be a ride. It’s really good. It’s nuts.”

“We have [Steven] Spielberg’s and Chris Nolan’s visual effects and special effects team, we have the best of the best in terms of department heads on this thing,” he added. “And everybody has to work together and we’re out in the middle of Oklahoma with big jet engines and wind machines and destroying towns. The movie is going to be spectacular.”
