It seems that the theme of this season has been “the return of real dressing,” with many designers ditching the shenanigans of yore and just presenting good, no-fuss clothing on the runway. That being said, there were still stunts here and there, though for the most part, in the form of some unexpected casting. It began not long into New York Fashion Week, when Jon Gries stepped out of our TV screens and onto the Eckhaus Latta runway (of course, The White Lotus fan fiction quickly bloomed to explain Greg’s turn as a male model). From there, more stars joined him, in both NYC and London, to walk the runway, and provide some dramatic monologue readings for the audience. As we move onto Milan and from there Paris, there are sure to be some more surprises in store, and you aren’t going to want to miss them. So, keep track here of the other famous faces that hit the runway as fashion month continues.
Pamela Anderson
Boss really brought out the celebs for their spring/summer 2023 show in Miami, opening up the presentation with Pamela Anderson.
DJ Khaled also walked for Boss, showing off a black suit on the runway.
Violet Chachki
The RuPaul’s Drag Race season seven winner joined supermodels like Naomi Campbell, Amber Valletta, and Precious Lee on the Boss runway.
Chachki was also accompanied by her Drag Race companion, Gottmik, who walked the runway in a black corset atop a deconstructed button down.
Khaby Lame
The surprising models at the Boss show were rounded out by the most followed person on TikTok, Khaby Lame, who seemed right at home on the runway.
Miuccia loves to throw a handful of stars into each of her shows, so it wasn’t too surprising when her fall/winter 2023 presentation opened with one of her muses, Mia Goth.
Emma Corrin
And when you open with star power, you have to close with it as well. That’s where Emma Corrin came in, closing out the show in a pair of embellished bloomers.
Just a season after making her front row debut at the Miu Miu spring 2023 show, Zaya Wade took it to the next level, making her runway debut for fall/winter 2023.
Ethel Cain
HoYeon Jung
She may be an actress now, but HoYeon Jung loves to return to her runway roots for Louis Vuitton.
Sara Stockbridge
Former Vivienne Westwood muse, Sara Stockbridge, returned to the runway for the brand’s first show following the death of the designer last year.
Cora Corré
But Stockbridge wasn’t the only one to show up to honor Westwood. Cora Corré, the designer’s granddaughter, closed out the presentation as a Westwood bride.
Ian McKellen
McKellen actually approached Steven Stokey-Daley about taking part in S.S.Daley’s autumn/winter 2023 presentation, according to Vogue, and luckily Stockey-Daley obliged, allowing the actor to open up the show with a reading of Alfred Tennyson’s The Coming of Arthur.
Lennon Gallagher
Daniel Lee’s striking color combinations weren’t the only unexpected surprise at his Burberry debut. Lennon Gallagher, the 23-year-old son of Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher and actress Patsy Kensit, popped up on the runway in a graphic rose print ensemble with fuzzy Wallabee-style shoes.
Florence Pugh
Luis De Javier tapped Julia Fox to close out his New York Fashion Week debut, placing her in a denim dress complete with horns protruding from the chest for her walk down the runway.
Eartheater
Before Fox finished things off, however, musician Trinity Vigorsky AKA Eartheater hit the runway, joining her friend Lourdes Leon who also took part in the show.
Jordan Roth
It’s fitting that Thom Browne would tap a Broadway producer, Jordan Roth, to help with the execution of such a theatrical runway show.
In season three of The White Lotus, Greg takes Tanya’s life insurance money, moves to New York City, and begins a new life as a male model. He proved at Eckhaus Latta’s fall 2023 ready-to-wear show that he has the chops.
Chloë Sevigny
The Proenza Schouler fall/winter 2023 ready-to-wear presentation marked the brand’s 20th anniversary, which designers Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez celebrated by paying tribute to the women who inspire them. It was fitting, then, that longtime friend of the brand Sevigny opened the show in a chic, all-black look.
Tommy Dorfman
Animals took over the Collina Strada fall/winter 2023 ready-to-wear show, and Tommy Dorfman got in on the fun, taking on the runway as a little bunny bride in a white slip dress.
Cody Lohan
Making it a family affair, Sister Ali Lohan walked as well.
Lucas Bravo
Suited up and face splattered with fake blood, Emily in Paris’s resident hunk Lucas Bravo took a turn on the runway for Louis-Gabriel Nouchi’s show during Paris Mens’ week.
