Draymond Green close to returning to Warriors from indefinite suspension

The Golden State Warriors are expected to bring back Warriors forward Draymond Green in the coming days, per ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.

Green was suspended indefinitely on Dec. 13 for striking Phoenix Suns’ center Jusuf Nurkic during a game. This was Green’s second suspension this year for an on-court altercation, the first being an incident with the Minnesota Timberwolves where he put Timberwolves C Rudy Gobert in a headlock. Green was forced to undergo counseling by the league as part of his suspension.

Green will be returning to the facility to ramp back up to play again, meaning he’ll come back to practice and getting in playing shape. Tonight’s game against the Denver Nuggets will be Green’s 11th game missed, and according to Woj, it’s unclear when the exact date of his return is.

Since Green was suspended, the Warriors have gone 6-4 with a win against the Celtics, but losses to the Nuggets, Heat and Clippers. NBA Commissioner Adam Silver ultimately has the final say about when Green returns, but Woj believes that the return is imminent.
