Photo Illustration by Luis G. Rendon/The Daily Beast/Getty Images/YouTubeBill Burr is drawing high praise for absolutely roasting HBO late-night host Bill Maher during a recent exchange about the Israel-Hamas War and college protests, prompting observers to applaud the acid-tongued comic for “shutting down an incredibly self-important” Maher.During a recent appearance on Maher’s podcast Club Random, in which the 68-year-old Real Time star smokes weed and drinks while whining about “woke” liberals with his guests, Burr stunned the host by declaring cancel culture “over” and that “no one cares anymore” about it.“That’s so not true, either one of us could get canceled in the next two minutes,” Maher exclaimed.Read more at The Daily Beast.

Ex-CNN Anchor Says Israel ‘Safer’ for Her Jewish Kids Than Upper West Side

Drew Angerer/GettyFormer CNN star and ex-Meta executive Campbell Brown sparked confusion this week by saying she was going to Israel, where it would be safer for her Jewish children than her native Upper West Side, amid ongoing pro-Palestinian protests against the war in Gaza.Brown’s husband Dan Senor, the former Coalition Provisional Authority in Iraq chief spokesman and Mitt Romney foreign policy adviser, reacted to his wife’s X post with an emoji-filled tweet expressing solidarity with Israel. While Brown’s tweet (and her husband’s reaction) seemingly suggested they are uprooting her family for a move to Israel, a source familiar with the situation told The Daily Beast that the ex-CNN anchor was merely traveling there to celebrate the Jewish high holiday of Passover and is not permanently moving there.Read more at The Daily Beast.

The HillRight-wing commentator Bethany Mandel on Wednesday blamed “hot mic” remarks made by a left-leaning host for her now-infamous inability to define the word “woke” on live TV, claiming she was thrown off by “nasty” comments made about parents minutes earlier.“Just before we went on air, Briahna Joy Gray was on a hot mic,” Mandel tweeted. “I heard her demeaning parenting in general in colorful and nasty terms, stating parents only have kids in order to perpetuate their own narcissism.”She continued: “As a mom of six, including a newborn, this threw me off just a bit. Not an excuse, just a reality. I’m human!”Read more at The Daily Beast.
