Jerry Seinfeld and Bill Maher Agree Trump Win Won’t Affect Them

YouTube/screengrabBill Maher said the times we live in are too “amazing” to worry about Donald Trump becoming president again. In the newest episode of his podcast Club Random, Maher sat down with Jerry Seinfeld, who most recently came under fire for accusing “the extreme left” of ruining sitcoms, to the delight of many conservative talking heads. And the Real Time host will probably extend his right-wing bonafides as well with his latest comments.Even though “climate change is probably gonna get us at some point” and “there’s lots of things going on behind the scenes that are horrible” in the world, Maher says “we live in the most amazing fucking times”—so much so that he doesn’t mind if Trump becomes president again: “I’m not gonna go nuts again if he wins another term.”Climate change hasn’t gotten us “yet,” Maher said, “We walked out here today [and] we weren't like, evaporated by the rays of the sun or something. It was a beautiful day. The grass is green. The sky is blue.” He went on to say that while he acknowledges that “there's lots of poisons everywhere and lots of terrible things,” he’s realized with age that these are wonderful times. “Trump could do this, and democracy, and blah, blah, blah—nuclear war,” he added, but “I’m not gonna fucking go nuts a again, if he wins another term. I just can’t.”Read more at The Daily Beast.

Rebel Wilson’s Sacha Baron Cohen Chapter Redacted in U.K.

Charles Sykes/Bravo via Getty Images/Randy Shropshire/Getty Images for CAARebel Wilson’s memoir Rebel Rising has hit some legal snags in its journey to United Kingdom and her native Australian bookshelves, and now that the book has finally been released in the U.K. (the Australian release has been delayed until August 2024, according to the publisher’s website), the Sacha Baron Cohen chapter looks a lot different from the one released in the U.S.The book has been published in the UK with Wilson’s claims against Baron Cohen—namely, that he’d asked her to perform a sexual act on him in front of other crew members on set of their film Grimsby—covered by black bars, The Daily Beast has confirmed. Getty photos of the book show the pages of the book with Wilson’s Baron Cohen claims unreadable. According to U.K. paper The Telegraph, the redaction was the work of Baron Cohen’s attorneys.Reps for Cohen previously told The Daily Beast that Wilson’s claims were “demonstrably false,” and added, “While we appreciate the importance of speaking out, these demonstrably false claims are directly contradicted by extensive detailed evidence, including contemporaneous documents, film footage, and eyewitness accounts from those present before, during and after the production of The Brothers Grimsby.” They did not offer any additional on the record comment about the book redaction.
