Let’s cut the preamble and get right to the good stuff—the discounts of the day! Cream of the crop deals include a historical low on Super Mario RPG, a decent chunk off the GOAT that is The Last of Us Part I, and No Man’s Sky went half off in time for its Orbital update. Gaming’s greatest comeback story, that one. You love to see it.
In retro news, I’m celebrating the 31st birthday of Final Fight CD, arguably the best home version of Capcom’s touchstone beat ’em up. Way more faithful than the SNES and Mega Drive versions—or the iffy Amiga one I was raised on—this must-own was scarfed by game starved Mega-CD owners, quicker than a free oil drum chicken.
Super Mario RPG already held up pretty well if you didn’t mind a bit of dust on its different systems, but now there’s no excuse not to see why Mario’s most unexpected adventure is still so beloved. 8/10, great.
It’s the first (barely) double digit discount I’ve seen for this. So yeah, it could finally be time for you to pull the trigger and come see what all the fuss is about with Pokémon + Guns: The Video Game.
Not gonna lie to you—this isn’t the best caped crusading adventure ever made. That said, and at this price, worth a speculative purchase for co-op shenanigans at the very least.
Tekken 8 is an amazing entry in the long-running series. Expect interesting tweaks to its classic fighting systems, a full suite of fun offline modes, great new characters, incredible training tools, and a vastly improved online experience. 9/10, amazing.
