The StarCraft series is coming to Game Pass

During its Xbox Tokyo Game Show 2024 broadcast, Microsoft announced that it’s bringing some of the best real-time strategy campaigns of all time to Game Pass. StarCraft Remastered and StarCraft 2: Campaign Collection will be added to the subscription service on Nov. 5.

Although all StarCraft and StarCraft 2 multiplayer is free-to-play anyway, the significance here is the addition of the games’ brilliant campaigns, with their challenging and inventive stage design, memorable characters, and typically melodramatic Blizzard storytelling from the hand of Chris Metzen.

StarCraft Remastered includes the 1998 original’s campaign plus its expansion Brood War, while StarCraft 2: Campaign Collection brings together the game’s three campaigns — Wings of Liberty, Heart of the Swarm, and Legacy of the Void — plus the Nova Covert Ops mission pack and the Co-op Commanders mode.

There are no console versions of these games, so they’re coming to PC Game Pass and Game Pass Ultimate only.

Microsoft still has plenty left to raid in the Blizzard vault, including all the earlier Diablo games and the entire Warcraft franchise. What will be next?
