- One of boxing’s biggest bouts in the modern era has finally been agreed.
- Errol Spence Jr. and Terence Crawford will compete in a welterweight championship bout in July.
- The super-fight is scheduled for 12 rounds and will air on Showtime pay-per-view.
Terence Crawford and Errol Spence Jr. have announced their summer super-fight has finally been agreed upon and that they’ll do battle on Saturday, July 29, at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
The American boxers have been linked with one another for five years and entered negotiations for a prizefight more than a year ago, with one negotiation failing spectacularly.
However, any issues in the past — which Insider has previously reported on extensively — have been swept to the side as the welterweight rivals will put their respective world championships on the line for a bout that could break the box office.
Considering the titles on the line and the pedigree of the athletes combined, the bout could easily be the biggest boxing spectacle since Floyd Mayweather defeated Manny Pacquiao in 2015.
“Finally giving the fans what they want,” Spence said Thursday on Instagram.
“This one a throwback fight on paper, but it could be a one-sided ass whooping [and] one of the biggest fights of the century.”
Crawford also confirmed the deal on Twitter.

The super-fight will have Crawford’s WBO title and Spence’s WBA, WBC, and IBF championships available, yet the stakes are arguably much higher as the winner could become the No.1 fighter in the entire sport.
Crawford, a champion of three weight classes, won his WBO belt in a 2018 technical knockout victory over Jeff Horn and has retained that title six times since.
Spence, meanwhile, is a long-time champion in the 147-pound division and has strong title wins over Kell Brook, Lamont Peterson, Shawn Porter, Danny Garcia, and Yordenis Ugas.
The Crawford-Spence bout is scheduled to last 12 rounds and will air on Showtime pay-per-view for a to-be-determined price point.
