LEGO has announced a new set based on The Lord of the Rings. It’s a massive Rivendell set comprised of 6,167 pieces. The set will be available exclusively at the LEGO Store with a price tag of $499.99. It’s set to release March 5 for LEGO Store VIP members and March 8 for everyone else. You can sign up to become a VIP member here for free. No preorders are available, so you’ll have to visit the LEGO Store the day it goes on sale to place an order.
LEGO Lord of the Rings Rivendell (10316)
Fans of the books and films will remember Rivendell is the ornate forest dwelling of Elrond and other elves of Middle-earth. It’s where the gang gets together to embark on their journey to destroy the ring in The Fellowship of the Ring.
To depict that memorable scene, the set comes with 15 minifigures, including all nine members of the Fellowship (see below for the full list).
The set is comprised of three sections and a number of rooms shown in the movie. There’s the Council Ring, where the group discuses what to do with the ring. There’s Frodo’s bedroom, where he recovers after being injured by the Ringwraiths. Also included are Elrond’s study, an elven tower, a gazebo, river, and bridge.
